TWO MOTOR BANDITS.
CRIMES IN MELBOURNE. CARS HELD UP. MELBOURNE, .July 25. Using a powerful sedan car from which the back window had been removed in order that pursuers might be fired on, two bandits, between 12.30 and 2.30 o’clock on Sunday morning, robbed four motorists and attempted to rob another in a suburban area. In each ease tho masked bandits drove alongside parked cars, threatened the occupants with pistols and demanded money. The demands were acceded to in four eases, the bandits getting about £6 and jewellery from women passengers. The last attempt failed as the motorists saw the bandits in time and drove rapidly away. Three police patrols began a search for the bandits and recovered their ear, hut the men escaped.
