ALL SAINTS’ MEN’S CLUB.
AIUSICAL EVENING. A large number of ladies and other visitors met with the members of All Saints’ Alen’s Club on A\ r ednesday evening. The acting-president (Rev. AV. Langston) welcomed the visitors and introduced the musicians who were providing the programme. The function had been arranged by Air H. J. King, and comprised several items by an orchestra under the baton of Air J. R. AA’ingate. These were very enjoyable and the audience were not slow in showing their appreciation of the talent and the music rendered. Other items included songs by Air H. E. Bennett, with orchestral accompaniment, a violin solo by a member of the orchestra, and a novel entertaining turn by Air King I'Vnself in which two songs were introduced.
In a happy speech the chairman voiced the thanks of all for the programme and specially thanked Airs AlcNeilly for acting as accompaniste at short notice; Air C. AAC Teppett also acted as an accompanist. Alembers of the club assisted the stewards (Messrs Bee and Longney) in serving supper, after which an informal social chat proved a pleasant interlude. It was announced that Rev. J. C. A. Zimmerman (a former curate of the parish) had arrived back in New Zealand and was looking forward to renewing acquaintances with Palmerston Aiprth people in the future. The item for the next function is set down as. a debate with the St. Peter’s Club, and arrangements are well forward.
