CABINET MEETING.

ON IMPERIAL AFFAIRS. WELLINGTON, Aug. 2. The first meeting of the Ministry since the return of the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, from England, will bo held to-morrow. Questions arising out of the Imperial Conference will be discussed. A tribute to the work of his colleagues during his absence from the Dominion was paid on Saturday by Mr Savage. “They deserve every credit, particularly in view of the absence abroad of the -other Ministers —Mr Nash, Mr Armstrong and later Mr Semple,” said Mr Savage. “Indeed, there is very little they have not done. After meeting men from all quarters of the globe, I am perfectly satisfied that the men who have carried, on the work while I have been away do not suffer by comparison.”
