OROUA DOWNS.
(From Our Own Correspondent ) OROUA DOWNS. Aug. 4. On a recent evening the residents of Oroua Downs and friends of Air D. Alitchcll gathered in the hall to bid farewell to Mr Aiitchell, who has gone on a farming vonturo to the Bay of Plenty. The evening was spent in dancing. At an interval Air J. Q. Cameron presented Air Aiitchell with a chiming clock on behalf of the residents, an electric hot water jug from fellow members of the Sports Club, and a tobacco pouch from the Table Tennis Club. A-Ir Cameron also referred to Air Alitchell’s willing ness to help with anything in the dis trict. Dancing was carried on until a lato hour. Tho table tennis season is practically over, the local club having only two matches to play now. There will bo one with tho Foxton Old Pupils’ Association Club this week, whilo it is hoped to arrange one with Aianawatu Heads for next week.
