Scores at the practice shoot of the Ohakca Rifle Club wore as follow: —E. Simpson, 68-70—138; S. Quinlan, 70—67—137; W. Klatt, 68—69—137; W. Robinson, 69 67 —136; P. Ellery, 66 —68 —134; D. Ellery, 67^-67 —134; PI. Ellery, 67-65-132; F. Simpson, 63—67 —130; J. Wightinan, 66 64—130; J. Ellery, 62—61—123. A trophy presented by Air G. Wiggins was won by D. Ellery. As tho final matches for (be Aianawatu championships will be held next week, it has been arranged (o meet the Alarton Club on tho local range on Thursday night. The Ohakca teams will lie chosen from tho following: P. Ellery, S. Quinlan, H. .Ellery, W. Robinson, D. Ellery, N. Loot, G. Robinson, K. Bailey, 11. Harris, I l '. Simpson, E. Simpson, W. Klatt, J. Ellery, C. Hartley, J. Wightman. Members of the local club will be participating in the championships of the Wanganui association at the week-end. The members of tho drama circle of the local Women’s Institute presented their play, “A Alnrriagc is Disarranged” at the festival in Palmerston North last week. The players were Aicndainca J. Ellery, B. Frecklington, Misses I. Ellery, E. Ellery, I. Alatthows, E. Simpson, and E. Alullin. Although not placed, the experience gained will be of inestimable valuo to the members. The same players presented this . play at the birthday function of the Bulls Instituto on Alonday. The school was closed to-day to ptjrmit a party of scholars to witness the Springboks match in Palmerston North.
Mr CL Wiggins, of Ashlnust, was a visitor to the district on Alonday. The friends of Airs Thompson Walker will regret to learn that sho is confined to her bed, her health causing some anxiety. Air J. Ellery is also confined indoors and his friends will wish him a speedy recovery. Tho Ohakca and Bulls Rifin Clubs fired a further match for the McKclvic Cup on the Ohakca range, when the holders (Bulls) wore successful by 27 points. Prior to this the record number of challenges withstood was 17 by the Ohakca Club, but this has now been beaten by Bulls, this win making their 18th. D. Lundy and R. AlcIvemde shot best for Bulls, and W. Robinson and N. Loot were top for Ohakea. Scores wero as follow: —Bulls, D. Lundy, 68—70—138; R. AicKenzic, 69—69—138; O. Broughton, 67—69—136; N.
