The usual meeting of tho school committee was held on Monday evening. Those present were: Messrs. o.°Bcrg (chairman), W. Caithness (secretary), A. H. Hobbs, E. W. Thompson and J. B. Bennett. The net proceeds from the picture entertainment held last Thursday night in co-opera-tion with Mr. Barlow, amounted to approximately £1 10s. A painful accident befell Karl Sim, aged 8, son of Mr. Leo Sim, of Himitangi, and a pupil of Oroua Downs School, on Tuesday afternoon. Ho was thrown from a pony and sustained injuries to his arm. On being conveyed to Foxton in a charabanc for medical attention it was discovered that his arm was broken, and he was removed to Palmerston North Hospital, where ho is progressing favourably. The school children aro busy practicing for tho annual breaking-up concert.
