Saturday’s Road Cycle Race From Wanganui
AMATEURS MAKE PREPARATIONS The usual monthly meeting of tho Manawatu Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club was held in the Broadway Lounge last evening. Mr. C. M. Stagpool presided. Also' present were: Messrs. E. Woollctt, I. Ross, G. Cooksley, F. Manning, A. Divehnll, <T. Rush, G. Little, L. Ward, 0. Prouse, C. Hyde, I£. Rogers and N. C. Dixon (secretary). A vote of thanks was passed to donors of trophies for the forthcoming Wanganui-Palmerston North rond race, to bo held on Saturday.
Mr. L. Ward was appointed delegate to tho Sports’ Queen Committee.
Officials for Saturday’s race were appointed as follow: Starters, Messrs. C. Cliainey and G. Cooksley; referee, Mr. N. Dixon; time-keepers, Messrs. Weston J. Smith, C. Chainey; number steward, Mr. C. Hyde; road stewards, Messrs. G. Cooksley, C. Hyde, C. Chainey, H. Howgill, H. Jensen, A. Dirchall, F. W. Aishcr; judges, Messrs. C. Olsen, G. Little, J. Rush, H. Divehall, 11. Rogers, F. W. Aishcr, J. Boucher, L. Ward, J. Walker, G. Springer, H. Howgill,; cal! stewards, Messrs. 0. Prousc and G. Springer; protest committee, Messrs.
Cooksley, Chainey, Olsen, Aisher, Dixon,
It was resolved that all unfiancial members bo barred from starting.
It was arranged that Mr. Aisher, president of the centre, present the prizes at the afternoon tea following the race.
