WHY THE ROYAL FAMILY IS PUNCTUAL
The punctuality of the British Royal Family is proverbial. Before they go anywhere or do anything officially, notice of the time is given, and no one is ever kept waiting. That is why an English crowd will stand for hours to watch a Royal procession, knowing that at the precise time stated thoir patience will bo rewarded. Courteous consideration is, of course, the reason for this strict observance of time, but one must not forget the 900 clocks which tick, away simultaneously in the royal residences, or the staff of men who-se duty it is to keep them in perfect order. The biggest number of clocks—360 —• i 3 at Windsor Castle; Sandringham has about 230; Balmoral has 250, and Buckingham Palace IGO. It is the boast o£ the staff that when one clock strikes they all strike.
