From Our Owu Correspondent School Committee Meets. The first meeting of the Milson SchoolCommittee was held on Monday. Members present were Messrs. F. Murphy (chairman), J. Futon, G. Richmond and L. Robertson (secretary). Owing to the severe damage done to the garden and shrubs by straying stock caused by the small gate being left open by those passing to and l'ro from the playing area, the following motion was passed: "That tenders be called for the erection of a turnstile in place of the small gala to be locked after school hours, and a small gate be erected to give access to the playing area through tho horse paddock. Also, that tho children be instructed that the use of the school enclosure after school is forbidden and the outside area only be permitted with access through tho horsepaddock.” It was decided to advise the District Engineer, In view of winter approaching, that repairs should be undertaken to the road leading from Montreal street to the school. Tennis Club. The committee of the Milson Tennis Club met, when members present were Mesdames Taylor and Rasmussen, Messrs Gilbert and Gumming. In the absence of Mr Bulmer, Mr Gilbert was In the chair. It was resolved to ask Mr Taylor and Mr Ferguson to accept positions on the com- | mittee in place of Mr Williams and Mr I Fairbalrn, and also to purchaso buttons ! for competition by members. Names fori this competition are to be handed to the captain. The secretary is to purchase a suitable kettle for use on tho heater dur- J ing club days.
