Feilding Water Works Improvement Scheme Loan

Yesterday the town clerk (Mr C. H. Tate) received advice from the Government Loans Board that approval had been given for the borrowing of an additional amount of £IOOO to enable the repairs and improvements to Pending’s waterworks to bo completed, it will be recalled that the intake and weir suffered some extensive damage last year during floods in the river and it was necessary to raise a loan to carry out repairs as well as to introduce some improvements calculated to steady up the flow of water over the weir. This work was proceeded with when it was found that additional work would be required to complete the scheme. The £IOOO now authorised is expected to cover the cost of the extra work involved.
