ST JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIA.
DISTRIBUTION OF CERTIFICATES
The public are cordially invited to attend tho above function at the Girls' College on Thursday afternoon next at a.30 o'clock. Lady Plunket has kindly consented to distribute the certificates to tho successful local students. The formation of the ladies' branch of tho Defence League has given a great impetus to tlie work ot" the Association in Wanganui, altogether ;.iearly 200 students having taken the course of lectures given by local members of the medical profession. Of this number, 160 have been ladies, who have shown keen interest in the work, many of them having followed up the first-aid course by attending a series of lessons in home nursing, conducted by Nurse Walton, the District Nurse. As is wellknown, Lady Plunket is an ardent supporter of the work of the Association find it is anticipated that her visit here at the present juncture, will do -much! to further the Plunket Nurse movement. It is hoped1 that all who are interested will, maka a special effort to be present. His Worship the Mayor will preside, and Miss Fraser and Dr tlatherley will give short addresses.
