No. 134.—Petition of Eeee Aeama. Petitionee prays that a rehearing may be held in connection with the Orakei Block, in order that she may be recognised as successor to certain of her relatives. I have the honour to report that, as the subject of this petition comes under the provisions of a Bill now before the House, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 29th July, 1892.

No. 12, 1890, and No. 156, 1891.—Petition of Kipa te Whatanui and Others. Petitionees pray that their claims to portions of the Horowhenua Block may be heard, and relief granted. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion the Government should be recommended to take the whole questions affecting the Horowhenua Block into their consideration, and, if possible, to institute such legislation as will finally settle all disputes in connection therewith. 9th August, 1892.

No. 251.—Petition of Meiha Keepa te Eangihiwinui and 50 Others. Petition conveys a recommendation from a large gathering of Natives, held at Waipata, Hawke's Bay, on the 14th June, 1892, that no laws should be passed imposing rates and taxes on Native lands. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government. 9th August, 1892.
